Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups chopped apples (peeled and cored)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package egg roll wrappers (about 20 wrappers)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated and let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Step 2: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Step 3: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides. Roll tightly to form an egg roll and seal the edges with a bit of water.
- Step 4: In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). Carefully add a few egg rolls at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Step 5: Fry the egg rolls for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm. Enjoy your delicious Apple Pie Egg Rolls!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store leftover Apple Pie Egg Rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- To enjoy them crispy again, reheat the egg rolls in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until heated through and the exterior is crunchy.
- Serve these delightful treats with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra indulgent experience.
- For perfectly sealed egg rolls, make sure to use enough water on the edges before rolling; this will help prevent any delicious filling from escaping during frying!
