Elevate your bagel experience! Whip up these irresistible Cheesy Spinach-Artichoke Bagels, featuring a creamy, savory spread of artichoke, spinach, and mozzarella. Quick prep, incredible flavor.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 plain bagels
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (13.75 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and finely chopped
  • 5 ounces fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using fresh spinach, thoroughly wash and finely chop it. If using frozen spinach, thaw it completely and squeeze out as much excess water as possible. Drain and finely chop the canned artichoke hearts. Mince the garlic clove.
  2. Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped artichoke hearts, chopped spinach, shredded mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is uniform.
  3. Step 3: Slice each plain bagel in half horizontally. Place the bagel halves, cut-side up, on a baking sheet.
  4. Step 4: Generously spread an even layer of the cheesy spinach-artichoke mixture onto the cut surface of each bagel half.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the topping is hot, bubbly, and lightly golden brown. For extra crispness and browning, you can broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Leftover bagel halves keep beautifully! Just pop them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
  • For a perfect reheat, warm your stored bagels in a toaster oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes until the topping is warm and the bagel is lightly crispy again.
  • These bagels are fantastic on their own, but also make a delightful brunch item or a light lunch when paired with a fresh green salad or a simple tomato soup.
  • A chef's secret for success: make sure your spinach and artichokes are thoroughly drained and finely chopped to prevent a watery topping and ensure a smooth, delicious spread.
