Kick up your taco night with Spicy Shrimp Tacos topped with vibrant mango salsa! Bursting with flavor from marinated shrimp and zesty fruit, this dish is a fiesta on your plate.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a bowl, combine the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated and let marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Step 2: While the shrimp is marinating, prepare the mango salsa by mixing together diced mango, red onion, jalapeño, lime juice, and chopped cilantro in a separate bowl. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Step 3: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Step 4: Warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until pliable.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the tacos by placing a portion of shrimp on each tortilla and topping with generous spoonfuls of mango salsa. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For optimal freshness, store any leftover shrimp and mango salsa separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • When reheating, gently warm the shrimp in a skillet over low heat to prevent overcooking, and warm the tortillas briefly in a microwave or on a hot pan to restore their softness.
  • Serve your tacos with extra lime wedges and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro for an added burst of flavor and color.
  • To enhance the spiciness of your shrimp, feel free to adjust the cayenne pepper to your taste or experiment with adding a pinch of smoked paprika for an extra layer of depth.
